Halfway around the world.....

We are four months logged in to the CCAA - we are getting closer MRK. How long will this wait get? I also got to put on my 4th "expectations" bracelet that Alice sent me for Christmas. This months bracelet is "loving". Thanks again Alice, these bracelets are so special to me and I can't wait to take them off and give them to Miranda.
On the adoption front things have been quiet. We are close to our 4 month LIDaversary (logged in with CCAA) which will get it's own post on Tuesday. The CCAA (Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs) has been closed since last week for Chinese New Year. The next batch of referals should be coming out very soon - let's hope they do more matches than they have been doing and maybe just maybe we'll see a speed up this month. We have come to terms with the wait and it is what it is. There are days it gets to me but I am trying to accept it and remember that this is out of our control - I know when we get our referal the wait will have all been worth it. On the homefront here in sunny Florida, we have just returned from a week long boat trip from Duck Key. We had an awesome time. We met some wonderful new friends - who are also fellow Sea Ray owners.... Alfie, Tommie Jo & Devon. We had a lot more in common than just our boats and had a great time spending time together. Our boys had lots of fun together at the Kids Club at night which gave us adults some free time as well. Sorry they had to leave just when the weather warmed up :) While we were in Duck Key, Joe took a flyer about a history flight where you can fly in a WWII T6 - well you all know how much Joseph loves WWII and flying - we called and it turned out they planes were in Port Charlotte for this week - we headed out today to go check it out and Joseph was scheduled to go up in the T-6 with a pilot for a 15 minute flight. He was so excited, Joe & I were excited but extremely nervous. Well they strapped Joseph in the front of the plane and started to explain about how to use the parachute in case it becomes necessary.... yeah, I just about died right there. Joseph looked at the pilot and said "I don't want to do this" - Joe quickly took him out of the plane. I was relieved but felt so bad for him. He was really upset. He wanted to do it but he said once he was in the seat, he couldn't see out. It's okay with us that he didn't do it but he swears he's trying this again when he gets taller.... See slideshow for pics from our trip and the attempt at flying a T-6....

Today we came home to my February Secret Pal package - we had so much fun opening it. My SP is so thoughtful. To start, we each opened a package of hershey kisses which also included a red thread bracelet - The red thread means.... "An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.
~ An Ancient Chinese Belief ~ The card said "the red bracelets included in each tissue-wrapped gift represents the red thread connecting you to Miranda Rae...." We tied them on each other and said a prayer for MRK. We will wear them until she is safely home. Joseph received his very own "Expecting a Lil Sis from China 2007"
t-shirt - he immediately put it on and loves it as well as the cute monkey that makes a kissey sound!!!! I was treated to some great body lotions and bath salts and I am looking forward to using them. Ms. Boo loved opening her package of dog biscuits. MRK received 2 awesome books, which we read tonight and put on her shelf, a very cute and soft my first doll, socks with a monkey on them which very much looks like our groups Tea Monkey logo - too cute. The gift that brought tears to Joe'e eyes was the I Love Daddy bib. Also in our package were some great Valentines days ink stamps - we hope MRK is home next Valentines day to make a very special card for my Secret Pal! Your clues have me about to make a guess..... Thanks again my friend......
Below is a slide show of the wonderful gifts

Here is Ms. Boo being as cute as ever. Since she came to live with us, she has not liked sleeping in either of the beds Chloe loved. She has preferred to sleep in the middle of the room or next to one of us. At night, of course, sleeps in bed with Joe & I. She is much more timid than Chloe and must be with one of us at all times. The beds have really only been to hold her toys, until today.... She dragged the bed from the living room into the middle of the hall to the stairs and very happily made herself comfortable.... She is too cute!
